Golfclub Kagerzoom was founded in 1989 and the 9-hole (Par 70 for 18 holes) course designed by Gerard Jol was opened in 1994. In 1997 it was awarded the A-status of the Netherlands Golf Federation (NGF).
The course is a typical “polderbaan” with plenty of water in play and enough wind to create problems for experienced players. It is maintained to a high standard and is regarded as one of the more beautiful courses in the region. Considerable attention is given to ecological aspects and there is a rich variety of flora and fauna to be found. The course is located next to the Kagerplassen (natural boating lakes) and there are delightful views over the water. An attractive feature of the course is the old windmill at the end of the challenging dogleg of Hole 6.
